Minato was shocked, no, flabbergasted about the question Tsukiumi just asked him.
"Dost thou love me?" She repeated. Minato felt his heart beating like crazy. Why did she spring this on him? How was he supposed to respond? Of course he loves her, but he never thought he would have to say it so soon. Tsukiumi could tell by the look on his face that he was having difficulty speaking and it made her feel heavy inside.
'What if he didn't love me back?' she said.
"Tsu-Tsukiumi, what's with the sudden question?" Minato asked. She turned her head to hide the fierce blush on her cheeks and avoid her husband's stare.
"I merely wish to know if my husband loves me or not. Tis not a bad thing right?"
"I-I suppose not; but you know I do right?" Minato asked back.
"Then why won't thee say it?" Tsukiumi responded. She had Minato trapped now. He couldn't avoid the question any more, but found himself unable to speak. Truthfully, he did love Tsukiumi. What man in the right mind wouldn't love someone so beautiful and graceful? In all his life, Minato never dreamed of having such a beautiful woman by his side, let alone someone as stunning as Tsukiumi.
"It-It's not that I don't want to say it. It's more along the lines of I can't," he said. Tsukiumi cocked her head to the side, staring at Minato in confusion.
"What dost thou mean? I don't follow."
Minato scratched the back of his head.
"I mean I can't say it, because I can't find the right words to say it with."
Tsukiumi still didn't understand, in which Minato had to elaborate. He set the brush aside and made sure no one would walk in on them. Tsukiumi watched him and saw him approach her again. Her heart was still racing so fast, mostly because of the intimacy they shared a few minutes ago. She snapped out of her thoughts when Minato placed his hands on her shoulders. Their eyes met for the second time, but Tsukiumi couldn't keep hers locked.
"Tsukiumi," Minato called her name. She didn't raise her head and simply looked with her eyes, but Minato wanted to see her face and placed his hands on her cheeks to do so. He wanted to see her eyes so she'll know he means everything. Tsukiumi's chest felt like it was about to burst. She longed to be so close with her husband, but the opportunity never found her; until now. They could feel the other's breath touch their lips and their eyes sending chills down the other's back. If that wasn't all, Tsukiumi was still in her bikini, just two pieces away from being completely naked. With Minato up so close, he could practically see everything her body offered; she squirmed a little, trying to shake the chills, but they never vanished. Usually, it was Minato who couldn't avoid her grasps, but now it's Tsukiumi who found herself unable to escape.
"Well? Is thee going to just stand there, or will thee give me an answer?"
Her husband nodded slowly and yet so confidently. She didn't know he could be this strong; he would usually shrink down at stuff like this, but now he's proving to show remarkable courage and strength. It made Tsukiumi's heart beat even faster, probably going to kill her in the end, but she needed to hear her husband's words before it happens.
"Tsukiumi; I really don't know what to say. It's going to take more than just three words to get my feelings across; and while I know those three are very crucial, it's not enough. You need to hear more, but words fail me. I can't tell you how much I love you, because there aren't any words that can deliver the message."
Tsukiumi gasped. Her ears picked up the important words she wanted to hear, but she knew he was right; she wanted to hear more.
"Thou just said..."
"Yes Tsukiumi; I do love you," Minato stated with a fiercer blush staining his face. "I've been in love with you for a long time, ever since you and I became bonded that day. I knew though that I wasn't worthy enough to have you. I knew you deserved better and so I refrained from telling you so many times; however, the more I saw you, the more I saw how graceful you looked, how strong you've become, and how stunning you always appear, I just keep wanting to tell you more; and while I know we are ashikabi and sekirei."
"Husband and wife," she corrected him.
"Right," he rsponded. "You deserve someone better much than me."
"Minato that's not true," Tsukiumi frowned. "Thee is very precious to me. Before I met thee, I hated everything to do with ashikabi; I only figured they wanted to enslave sekirei and have their way with them. However, when I met you, I didn't expect you to protect me as you did. You stopped that man from forcing me to be his sekirei and even gave me the choice of being yours."
She rested her forehead on Minato's chest and gripped the jumpsuit.
"If it wasn't for thee, I wouldn't be here right now. Instead, I would be someone else's sekirei. I would be forced to do things only a couple in love should do; and the only person I want to do that with is my true husband, you."
Minato bit his lip a little and wrapped the water sekirei in a tight embrace. Tsukiumi's eyes opened wider from the sudden hug, but she didn't resist and hugged her husband back. Her large chest pushed against Minato's, but neither cared. Minato held her tight, protecting her.
"I love thee Minato. I want us to be closer."
"I understand," the raven-haired ashikabi responded. "Then will you go out with me?"
Tsukiumi hugged him tighter.
"Of course; I welcome a night alone with my husband."
They pulled back from the hug and stared at each other's eyes again. Minato gently caressed Tsukiumi's left cheek and rested his forehead against hers. Tsukiumi snaked her arms around her husband's neck and slowly closed her eyes.
"Kiss me."
Minato didn't hesitate and honored her request. They shared a passionate kiss and then finished up cleaning the bathhouse; however, they would steal a couple of kisses during, just to remind the other of their feelings.
