Blaine didn't hear back from daretorr89 until four days later. He found out that she only lived a few towns over, so they decided to meet up at a coffee shop near her house. Blaine sat with his black coffee and scone for a good ten minute until the woman showed up. She was wearing all black; sunglasses, trench coat, a wide-rimmed sunhat. Clearly this woman was trying not to be recognized, even though she stuck out like a sore thumb on the hot September day. She sat down across from him and looked around nervously. "Are you Blaine?", she asked while pushing her glasses down to get a better look at him.
"Yes. I'm Blaine. I'm guessing you're daretorr89. It's a pleasure to meet you. I have so many questions."
"You're not a cop are you?", she whispered to him from behind her hand. "Because if you are a cop, you have to tell me. That's the law".
"No, I'm not a cop.", he responded. He wasn't quite sure what was going on, but it made him feel uneasy.
"Ok. Great!", she said loudly as she removed her hat and glasses. "Now that we've got that out of the way, we can get started. Name's Darien Torres. Nice to finally meet you. You're a lot better looking than I expected.", she said as she extended her hand to shake his.
He took her hand and said, "Thanks,...I guess". It's true. She was probably expecting some weird looking nerdy guy with greasy hair and acne based on their conversations online. Blaine was a 6 ft. 2, handsome young man with slicked-back black hair and a well-groomed
goatee. He also had a dark, brooding charm to him that came with being a wealthy introvert.
Darien wasn't bad looking either. She had beautiful black hair that cascade down her somewhat muscular shoulders. She had an athletic build and a gorgeous face that definitely reflected her south Asian heritage, Filipino if he had to guess.
"So, what do you want to know?", Darien asked though a mouthful of scone.
"Everything, I guess. Maybe it would be easier if you told me your story first and then I ask questions after."
"Sounds like a plan jack. God, have you had these scones yet? They're fucking delicious.", she said as she bit off another chunk of her second one. Blaine was starting to wonder if he made the right decision coming here. This woman seemed ... off.
