Talula Ryder, 15, 4'6, 84 lbs.: A volleyball player from the local high school who has volunteered at the zoo for the last three years because she is not-so-secretly in love with Beth. Talula just learned about Beth's (back)side hustle and begged for a seat as Beth's seat. Beth likes Talula--she does what she's told, doesn't need to be told more than twice, and actually wants to be here as opposed to just doing it for extra credit--but finds her enthusiasm a little exhausting. Today might be a good chance to unload some steam on the girl, maybe for good. On the other hand, if they both enjoy themselves ... well, Beth's not above dating someone on the younger side.
Mary Chastain, 10, 4'2, 71 lbs.: The daughter of one of Annabelle, one of Beth's regulars, who has no idea what she is in for and thinks she's getting a special behind the scenes tour of the zoo. Beth might actually let Mary get up and close with some of the animals--she's never squashed anyone this young before--but she might also keep her to herself. The only twist is, Annabelle also wants a video of whatever happens to Mary, and wasn't fully clear on whether she'll want Mary back in one piece after it's all done.
