As the breathtaking castle door swung open, you immediately noticed a tall, black-haired witch with in emerald-green robes standing there. She appeared to have quite a menacing look about her as she addressed you and the rest of the students standing you;
"Welcome to Hogwarts, I am Professor McGonagall, the start-of-term banquet will begin shortly, but before you take your seats in the Great Hall, you will be sorted into your houses. The Sorting is a very important ceremony because, while you are here, your house will be something like your family within Hogwarts. You will have classes with the rest of your house, sleep in your house dormitory and spend free time in your house common room.
The four houses are called Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. Each house has it's own noble history and each has produced outstanding witches and wizards. While you are at Hogwarts, your triumphs will earn your house points, while any rule-breaking will lose house points. At the end of the year, the house with the most points is awarded the House Cup, a great honour. I hope each of you will be a credit to whichever house becomes yours. Now form a line."
As you walk into the Great Hall you see the extremely large and long room was lit by thousands and thousands of candles which were floating in mid-air over four long tables, where the rest of the year groups were sitting. At the top of the hall sat the teachers at another long tables, which was where Professor McGonagall was leading the queue of yourself and the other first year students.
As the hundreds of eyes of other students at you, you get quite nervous and decide to stare at the roof which strangely looked just like the night sky, then you overheard a whisper which no doubt came from Hermione telling other students that the ceiling is bewitched to look like the sky outside.
