"The absorber-" read Julie aloud, "Roll a die to see how much fat you absorb from the heaviest player in the game. If you're the heaviest player, absorb from the next heaviest."
Isaac and Chris laughed while Lindsey shrugged. Julie put down the card.
"This is one weird game, " Isaac managed through his laughter, picking up the die and rolling a 3.
Julie's eyes shot at the card as a red ink became visible on the card.
Ten times three equals thirty, it read rather simply, as if this was somehow relevant.
Julie kept her eyes transfixed on the card as her friends laughed and Isaac passed the die.
"Where did you even get this gam-" Isaac began before his eyes opened wide. Chris looked over at him, seemingly surprised.
"What's wrong bro?"
In response, Isaac shifted around uncomfortably, "I... I feel..."
Julie experiencing a similar feeling, cut him off, "As if you're swelling up!"
In fact, it was now plainly obvious that Isaac was rising like slowly baking bread. Less obvious, it was, that Julie was deflating just as slowly.
"Oh my God-" Isaac lifted his shirt for his friends to see, his stomach becoming a little doughy, a far cry from the 6 pack he once sported. He undid his pants and breathed a sigh of relief. His friends were too shocked to do anything other than hold their collective breatMy pants oh.
"What the hell just happened?" asked Isaac, feeling his newly thickened form, "I feel so mushy!"
"The game transferred 30 pounds between us, it seems," reasoned the now thinner Julie, "It seems I dropped from 180 to 150 and you gained the 30 pounds I lost."
Chris smiled, seemingly not all that shocked by this, "So Isaac's the fat one now?"
"Fuck you," said Isaac, his hand forming a fist, "How the hell- what the hell kind of- we can't keep playing this game!"
In response, the game shot out a single card, which read, "Failure to complete the game will result in grave consequences."
"Well that's that," said Lindsey, "I'm sorry you're a little...chubby.. but grave consequences seems worse than a few extra pounds, we have to finish this game."
"My pants don't even fit-" said Isaac angrily as he tried buttoning his pants back up, but Lindsey simply shot him an angry glare.
"Grave consequences," she repeated as she passed the die to Julie.
