"Clarification" the strange robotic voice said and both Isaac and Lindsey instinctively looked all around the room because the voice seemed to come from everywhere except the game, yet a card instantly shot out of the box towards Isaac's hand with a simple conversion
(50 lb = 22.6796 kg)
"Where did that voice come from? This game is too weird" Isaac said, as he showed the card to Lindsey to make it clear what the pounds meant in this case
"I don't know, but really stop being such a wuss. maybe is just one of those punishment cards or maybe you'll need that weight later?"
Isaac took a look at the game. It was quite straightforward, it didn't look like some sort of roleplay adventure where he would need to become a fat character in order to make things easy for him.
"I don't see why I would need it so I guess I pick double gain in next turn and hope I get something better" Isaac shrugged and left the little cards on the floor
Isaac noted with fascination how a little light turned on the box on the side facing him, as if it recognized his voice and decision made and stored the double gain as some sort of power up to use for later. How did it do it? the game looked like your typical boring board game and yet it was showing quite an advanced technology that he has only seen in tv, either in futuristic movies or in those millionaire's houses. But there was also the buzz and a slight but perceptible tingle within his body that he just started to notice.... This game was giving him the creeps but Lindsey kept calling him a wuss so he had to move on.
"It's your turn" Isaac pressed
Lindsay said nothing, also noticing that little light and also wondering why on earth would you need to increase weight on this game for, but she nonchalantly rolled the die and frowned when she saw the result. She got a higher result than Isaac landing a 5, but she also noticed she had no way at all of knowing if that was good or bad. There was no sign on the board that could tell her whether this was going to be good or bad, nothing at all to even distinguish one spot from another
As soon as she moved the piece, a card shot out from the box and found its way near Lindsay's hand, which started to give her the same dreadful feeling Isaac expressed. And like him, she had no desire to be called a wuss either so she looked at what the card said.
