Chapter #6

She thinks therefor she was.

"My first conscious thought was rather fuzzy, but basically was that I became aware that I consisted of a cluster about twelve cells, gradually subdividing. It's rather an odd sensation when there is so little of you there to begin with, but also rather peaceful."

'She was aware almost as soon as she was fertilized!' Herbert thought to himself.

"Hmm? What is fertilized?" Jill asked.

"Wait, did you read my mind?" Herbert retorted.

"I would never knowingly poke into your mind unless I thought it warranted. Unfortunately when you think words strongly in your head I cannot avoid 'hearing' them. You shout them rather loudly. I apologize if this is inconvenient." Herbert sighed and nodded for her to continue. Probably just have to be careful what I think of then. "Obviously." Jill answered his unspoken comment with a smile. "Now, where was I? Ah yes, could you explain what you meant by 'fertilized'? I gather you understand how I came to exist?"

"Oh. Well... new people come into being by... a meeting of genetic material, that... combines into a new person. That way the new person is not just a copy of the parent, it's a random mix of both parents and is truly an individual." Wait, was he talking like Professor Langstrom from his 'Explorer' Trilogy? Oh please don't start with a German accent!

"Is an accent important for a scientist? Oh sorry, perhaps I'd better leave your unspoken comments unanswered for the time being, unless it's important." Jill said sitting down on his stool. "That explains quite a few things actually, especially why there are both Mother and Father required for a child. That did have me rather confused at first. Admittedly That was while I was still in Mother's womb and at the time hadn't worked out how to see outside yet. She indicated that there had been a Father, but she had 'Booted him out like the worthless shit he was'. I believe the event she was referring to had just occurred prior to my existence beginning. Is this related?"

Herbert nodded, trying not to think too loud. Oh god! Birds and Bees talk with a young Goddess! Either he had kept his inner 'voice' down successfully or she was being polite as she didn't respond to that 'comment'.

"Um, yes it is. This is a rather awkward topic, mainly due to... well, emotional connections for people in general." he pondered how to say this. "It's.. rather a private thing between two people...." he said, blushing and trying frantically not to think of... certain things... too vividly.

Jillian looked at him with a perplexed expression.

"I do believe that we are considered 'two people' by most definitions Daddy? Please, fill me in."

Wonderful choice of words! By the sudden frown on Jill's face she must have heard that comment too. *sigh*
