“So, Eric, where do you want to go now?” Andy asked you as you licked your ice cream cone.
“Well, the park is right down the street and only a block away! Wanna go over there? The weather seems nice so far… Even though it’s starting to get kinda cloudy!” you respond, looking up to the cloudy sky.
“Oh yes… We’ll be fine. It’s not going to rain at the park. Don’t worry! Follow me!” Andy says confidently as he starts to skate straight towards the park.
“Uhh…. Listen here, Mister Weatherman! How do you know for sure that it’s not gonna rain?” you grin as you skate next to him.
“Just look! It’s clearing up right now! We won’t get any rain at the park! Trust me!”
As soon as you look up you see the dark clouds blowing over, the minute Andy said that. Pretty weird!
So, you skate over to the park and you hop off the skateboards as soon as you reach the grassy area. You walk over to the lake where the ducks swim and you hear a commotion off to the distance. You walk over to a small crowd forming by a tall tree where a cat got stuck on one of the branches, too scared to jump down.
“Here, kitty! Aww…. Poor kitty is too scared to jump!” someone stated.
“Someone needs to climb that tree and grab that kitty!”
“Any tall guys around?”
The branch that the cat was on was almost 14 feet above the ground. Nobody over 6 feet tall was standing among the crowd.
You and Alex walk up to the crowd. You feel sorry for the cat and you look at Alex, who was watching you the whole time.
“You really want to get the cat down from there, huh?” he says quietly.
“Yeah.”
“But, you’re too short…”
“Yeah… Darn it!”
“Being a giant is one of your secret fantasies, right?” he whispers.
“Yeah… Wait… How did you know?”
“To be a big, tall, muscle guy, right, Eric?” he adds.
“Y-y-yeah… I-I can’t remember ever telling you that…”
“You don’t have to tell me anything, Eric.” Alex says. “I know everything about you.”
You turn and look at him.
“Huh? Say what?”
“Now, go and rescue that poor cat from the tree, big guy!” Alex whispers.
You turn and face the tree as you look up and see the cat on the branch, about 9 feet above you… But wait! Something strange is going on! You’re overcome by an odd tingling sensation all over your body! You let out a gasp as you feel everything shift around you. As you look around, you’re seeing something very strange happen. Everything, yes, absolutely everything and everyone around you appears to be shrinking rapidly!
“Uhhh….” You moan softly as you suddenly realize you’re GROWING! All of you! The people before you are shrinking, so are the buildings, the trees, the cars in the parking lot, the bushes… And the tall tree in front of you! Within moments, you’re suddenly staring at the tree branch, just above your head, which you can easily reach now with your big, long, muscular arms.
“Here, kitty, kitty!” you laugh as you reach over with your long arms and you easily grab the poor, stranded cat with your very large hands.
The poor kitten seems like a lost, miniature animal while sitting in the palms of your hands as you carefully bring it down while you squat to the ground and release it.
The crowd cheers before you as you stand up straight and then look down… You must look down because everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY else is smaller than you. Even the tallest person can barely reach your waist!
You look for Alex, who reaches to about halfway up your big, thick quads. He just smiles as he cranes his neck, looking up to you. You then realize how your clothes have grown to fit your larger body. You guess you must be at least twelve feet tall by now!
“How does it feel being a big, tall, 12-foot giant, Eric?” Alex asks you.
“Uhh… Well… It feels kinda… Amazing! I mean, I’m so… BIG! Holy crap! Everybody else just seems so small! I’m like twice as big as everybody else around here! This is very cool!” you say to him.
“Great! Well, let’s walk around the park, dude!” Alex said as he strolled along the path which circled the large lake.
While walking around the lake, you stop and admire your reflection in the water. Alex sees that and he comes and stands next to you. That is when it hits you how truly BIG you are.
“Pretty cool, huh?” Alex chuckles. “I can tell how much you’re enjoying being a giant!”
“Uhh… Okay, so you used your God-powers to make me grow, right?”
“Yup!”
“So… Are you gonna shrink me back to normal?”
Alex shook his head.
“Nope!”
Your jaw drops wide open.
“You’re not gonna shrink me? You’re gonna make me stay like this? This… BIG?” you ask him.
“Yup. This IS normal from now on.” Alex confirms. “This is your new reality.”
You blink. You stare at Alex. Then you remember. You’ve always been a big guy. People have always known you to be a huge, towering giant. Nothing unusual about it. You’re used to being bigger and taller than everybody else. This is no big deal.
“Lucky thing you were around to rescue the cat, Eric!” Alex smiled. “Sometimes it’s nice being twelve feet tall, huh?”
“Uhh, yeah… it has advantages… Sometimes!” you sigh as you hop on your super-giant skateboard while wearing your size 24 custom-made sneakers.
“Cool, let’s go to my house!” Alex says as you follow him to his place…
