Chapter #2

Nothing out of the ordinary...

by: Digital dismay Author IconMail Icon
Hi, I think I should introduce myself. My name is David Hosima, I am round about 6" 3' - 6" 5'. I am 19 years of age. I was abandoned on the doorstep of my foster parents around 3 months old. I prefer to stay out of everybody's way because I always feel like I am getting under everyones feet. I live in my own 2 bedroom flat. It's nothing fancy but it's adacquete. I never really knew anything about my birth parents, saying that, neither did anyone else. They all said that I just popped up on their doorstep out of nowhere. I'm not good with social gatherings and to most people I look like a loner, they are normally right. My hobbies include reading, going out for nature walks and stuff like that.

I have hazel eyes, sometimes people say that they switch colour form time to time, between bgreen and brown. I don't have very long hair but I also don't have a shaved head, It doesn't suit me well. My normal attire for the day would be any pair of comfy jeans, a brandless top and my favourite black hoody. To some I look like someone who is looking for a reasonto flip out. I'm kind of a social outcast and to be honest I actually prefare being known as and outcast. It makes me feel different, I feel like I can stand out against the crowd but also blend in when needed. I try to disguise how tall I am though. Sometimes I feel like I am getting unnecasarry looks and attention. Well enough about me, Let me tell you how I got this power And why I came to use it how I did.

Thurday 16th October. My appartment. 1:42pm.

"Well, I finally finished up my homework." I said as I started to close all the programmes down. After doing that I went to shut down the computer, only to have it saying that an error occured because there was a programme was still running. "Odd, I'm sure I closed all of them down properly." I sighed as I went about looking for the application which was still open. After searching as thoroughly as I could, I still couldn't find anything, so I opened the Task Manager to close it down manually.

As soon as I opened it up, the application made it's way up onto the front of the screen. I didn't recognize the application so I thought is was a virus. I opened my anti-virus and tried to move it to my vault and deal with the threat as quickly as possible. That didn't work. "What the hell?! Why. Can't. I. Shut. You. DOWN?!" I shouted at my laptop. No matter what I tried nothing would work. What bugged me more is the fact that the Anti-virus detected no threats from it, that and the window it occupied was a blank, white.

After contemplating what I could do, I just decided to turn it off manually with the power button. "Ok, all I need to do is just hold this for for 5 seconds. And... Turn off? What the hell is wrong with my computer?!!" I said as I repeatedly jabbed the power button in a futile attemp to shut down my laptop. That when I noticed that the window ad some writing on it for the first time. It said 'Hi, David.' "Ok, now that is just plain weird, first you won't turn off. And now your starting a conversation with me? I MUST be dreaming." I said as I pinched myself as an attempt to wake my 'dreaming' self up.

"Ow... Oww... OWW" I howled as I tried and tried, again and again. Each time harder than the last, each time it hurted more and more. "This is something freaky." I said as I looked at the laptop with just about more curiosity than fear, just. The screen started typing on it's own again, it said 'Are you quite done yet.' All I could do is nod. 'Good' was the reply. 'You may be a little freaked out by how these messages are appearing on your computer without anyone really touching it' Yeah, no kidding. 'But don't be afraid' Me afraid, never... Well maybe a little. 'I have come to give you the some news, it may seem farfecthed and more like a practical joke than anything. But please try to heed the information I am about to give.' "We'll see." Was my only reply.

I felt like I was going insane, talking to my laptop as if it were a person. Someone was probably controlling it with a piece of software designed to do that. Yeah this was one big practical joke. 'I assure it is not.' The computer screen showed. "H-How did you d-do that?!" I said with more fear than i wanted to show. 'Like I said before, do not be afraid. Now are you going to actually pay attention?' The screen showed. I read it as though it had a slightly annoyed tone. "Y-Yeah I guess so." I said as I took amoment to compose my self again. 'Good, now the information I am about to display will shock you but it is the truth. David Hosima, YOU...
