The smell of a new mystery

In the fading light of dusk on a mid summer night a loud clatter rung out from behind the Fire Grill Buffet. Mrs. Stacy Irons the assistant manager of the restaurant was tossing sacks of garbage into the dumpster before heading home. Stacy turned and waved goodbye to one of the grill cooks who was leaned against the wall by the back door on a smoke break. As she neared her car a strange smell began to fill the air around her. Stacy looked around trying to identify the source of the smell, it was so sweet and alluring. From the alleyway that provided a secondary exit from the parking lot Stacy saw a faint glow, the closer she got the stronger the smell became.
The cook who had been taking a smoke break was now laughing and chatting with one of the waitresses who had joined him in the warm evening air for a quick reprieve from the crowded restaurant when suddenly the sharp scream of the assistant manager echoed through the parking lot.
