Chapter #8

The Coolest Prison Around

    by: akatheguy Author IconMail Icon
The huge man closed the lid of the cooler, and Stan's desperate attempts to escape were in vain.

The tiny teenager's heart pounded. It could take hours, days, weeks to get back to the family from here...he knew there was no way out of the cooler. He cursed. Why did he have to ask to shrink? He was starting university soon. He could have gotten through it, got a good job, supported his adopted family some other way. But no, he had to indulge his insane fantasies and now he was being carried off in some huge, beefy guy's beer cooler.

Stan climbed one of the bottles, clinging to the top of one. Being stuck in the ice was a horrible experience, and he didn't want to get frostbite. Especially not in such an embarrassing situation to get frostbite...

The cooler box was impossible to get out of, that much was certain, so Stan just had to wait it out, hope he opened it again. But no, disaster struck; not 20 minutes later he felt the cooler lifted off the ground, shaken aggressively from side to side. The guy was leaving! Stan attempted to climb to the lid, to do something, ANYTHING, to get out of there, but there was no way. The thing was moving too much to keep balance.

The giant man carried the cooler to his truck and shoved it in his car, then put his keys in the ignition. Stan blanched in fear. How far away did this guy live?

Luckily - as if anything in this situation could be described as "lucky", Stan lamented - it wasn't far. The engine cut out after 10 minutes, you felt the cooler move again, and you prayed to god you'd be able to get out soon. The cold was unbearable.

The cooler box was lifted again, and carried. The sound of keys in the door. The same door being shut. The giant humming a low, bass-filled tune to himself. You winced.

Suddenly, there was a loud BANG as the box was placed on a wooden surface of some kind - a counter? Truthfully, Stan didn't have a clue. He just prayed the box would open...

And his prayers were answered, but it seemed to Stan the god he was playing too was the enormous, bearded giant whose cooler he was trapped in. The guy might as well have said "let there be light" in his deep voice as the latch of the cooler was removed and the box opened. Stan sighed with relief, but then a new fear overtook him - what if this giant caught him? What if he wasn't friendly?

You have the following choices:

1. The giant finds Stan.

2. The giant doesn't see Stan - Stan is able to escape the cooler.
