Chapter #4

Winnie The Wanderer

    by: G.Harold Author IconMail Icon
After strolling across the road for what appear to be hours, Winnie stopped and sat down. Her feet were aching after all that traveling from a agricultural area all the way to this suburbia road. Unfortunately, the inn that she stayed back at the previous area wasn't the most pleasant place to spend the night at; the bed was almost as hard as a rock and not to mention a heated argument from the next room as well as some loud music from the ceiling kept her awake all night. As a result, she's nearly drowsy and decided to find another place to relax for a bit. This suburban community might have a nice home for her to stay in, but finding one that's suitable is a little difficult.

"Oh crap, is there any place that'll look nice enough for me to rest? I can't travel at this condition." she groaned while trying to stay up.

Winnie stood up and look behind to see if this house could be perfect place. The house is pretty much a standard two-floor building that was both brown and red in color and other than that, it's nothing special but she had enough. "Screw this, I really won't care much anymore. I need a place to catch a break." she said as she stumbled across the concrete path that leads to the house.

She approached the door and can see a sign that reads "Stevensons". "I wonder if they'll be nice enough to invite me in..." she said and ringed the doorbell.

No answer.

She ringed again.

No answer.

After a good ten times, she stands there and waited.

No answer.

"Dammit, looks like they're not even home!" she said and left the doorway. She thought about waiting for the owners at the sidewalk, but that'll probably take a few hours. She could simply find another home to get there but she's already done enough walking.

Normally she doesn't do anything illegal, but seeing how she's desperate to get on the road again, she could.....just sneak inside.
