Even though she really didn't want to, Tori knew that she would have to get the shot one way or another, so she decided that it would just be easier to take the shot now and get it over with.
"Well, guys, wish me luck!" she said to her friends before turning and walking towards the nurse's office. On her way, Tori could have sworn that she heard the conversations of the people around her talking about rusty needles, bad medicine, and horrible diseases.
It's nothing," she told herself calmly. "You're just a little nervous about getting a shot for the first time in a long time. Everything is going to be just fine." Tori continued on, and soon she arrived at the nurse's office. There was a small line of students sitting out front, and Tori assumed that they were all there for the same reason that she was. A few minutes went by, and the nurse opened the office door to let another student out.
"Tori Vega?" she called out the open door. Tori stood up, and the nurse said, "Ah, good, you're here right on time for your shot!" Assuming it was a flu shot, Tori went into the nurse's office without asking a question. Everything went smoothly. She got her shot, put a band-aid on it, and that was that. Nothing more to it.
"Ha!" Tori laughed as she walked out of the nurse's office. "I can't believe that I was actually scared of that little old shot!" As she walked to her next class, Tori began to feel light-headed. Attributing it to the shot, Tori continued towards her next class, but when the feeling got stronger, she knew that something was wrong.
"I don't think that a shot is supposed to make me feel this weird..." she said nervously as her face began to turn paler.
