You wandered into the living room, still wiping sleep out of your eyes. No one seemed to be around, although you were sure they would show up soon enough. Taking a seat on the far side of the couch, you stretched out and clicked the television on with the remote. Flipping around yielded no immediate results, so you left on a nature documentary and zoned out a bit.
You must have still been pretty tired, because before you knew it you'd dozed off again.
---sometime later---
You awoke to a sudden heavy pressure, and the dank, sweaty smell of sneakers. That could only mean one thing.
"Oh $&%*" You thought. "I left myself unguarded. Stupid stupid stupid!"
You flailed for a second, but found that the normal resistance of the situation wasn't there. You opened your eyes to daylight and your sister Rachel pressing her worn sneaker into your face. She pulled it away and grinned a devilish grin.
"Smell good, squirt?" She said, tossing her shoe by the door with her other one. "It's hot as hell out today, and I figured you'd like a sample."
"Jeez Rachel, don't scare me like that," You said, "I'd thought someone had-"
"Oh, I know exactly what you thought, little brother. Just wanted to see how much you'd panic." She snickered and pulled your legs off the couch, sitting on the opposite side.
You eyed her suspiciously, but went back to watching TV. After a while, she glanced over at you and smirked.
"This is pretty boring." She said, apparently disinterested in the flora and fauna of New Guinea.
"Yeah, but nothing else is on." You sighed lightly.
"Well..." She started, getting up and kneeling by the TV, "If you're bored too, let's make it exciting."
You looked over and saw that she was setting up the old N64.
"Let's play Mario Kart. Same rules as usual?" She asked, giving you a competitive look that made you feel queasy. The 'usual rules' were simple. If you won, she would take care of your chores for a weekend. If she won, she would get to shrink you and do whatever she wanted. Whatever she wanted, of course, normally involved you, her shoe, and an endless mashing of sweaty toes.
"I can understand if you're too scared..." She goaded, "You already smelled my shoe. It is pretty rank." She laughed to herself.
Big decision time. If you accept, you'd have to be pretty lucky to win and escape another humiliating day. If you don't, she'll probably find another way to bring 'excitement' to the day, and if you're unbelievably lucky it won't be way worse than just gracefully losing at Mario Kart.
