After pondering for the rest of the day, Kyle approached Charlot at the final bell. "Hey, Char'," he opened. Charlot muttered a somewhat confused, "Hello," and tried to continue walking, but Kyle kept pestering her. He tried to grill her with questions about herself and her hobbies, but she just wasn't cooperating. So your brother just went for it. He took out the device, put a headphone in, and raised one to the meek girl. "Check this out!" he said.
Nervously, she complied, and Kyle triggered the exchange, swapping with Charlot instantly. The rush from the experience literally knocked the pair from their feet, and landed them on the ground. Charlot got up first, and covered her mouth, saying, "Oh my god..." Kyle picked up the device and the ear pieces, and stuffed them in the pocket of Charlot's sweatshirt. He began to explain, but unexpectedly, Charlot explained first. "K-K-Kyle," it was unfitting of your brother's voice to speak so shyly, "I don't know how, but... But when we fell just now... I think we somehow... Switched bodies..."
Kyle rolled with it. That was easier than trying to explain that he deliberately stole her body. "So, uh. What are we gonna' do?"
Your brother's face went flush as Charlot continued. "We'll have to look into a way to change back. But until then... We'll have to pretend to be each other." Your brother fought back a grin. This was going more perfectly than he expected. It could potentially all be ruined when Charlot found the machine, but for now he'd be in the clear. After exchanging a little personal info, Kyle and Charlot went to each others cars, and headed to their respective homes.
