"Kelly!" your father roars as he paces back and forth through the garage. "I've had enough of this! I know what you're going through is touch, but it's your own fault! You rushed into this and signed that contract without talking to anyone first. It's going to expire soon. All you have to do is survive through this last stretch, and you can start over." Your dad opens a pod, thinking he heard crying from inside, but it was empty. As he leans inside to observe this new machine in his garage, something kicks on, and the inside of the pod illuminates, catching him totally off guard. For one moment, he feels disoriented, before passing out.
When Mark wakes up, he's lying on a couch. Out of a small window to his right, he can tell that it's evening. The sun is just about down. "Where? What happened?" the man asks himself. He stands up, catching a glimpse of his dress as he rises, and walks off in search of a bathroom. Instead, he finds a bedroom, with a full-wall mirror greeting him as he walked inside. Displayed on the mirror: Kelly, his beautiful sister. Your father puts a hand to his forehead and sighs. "She switched bodies with me... Again. I guess Luke's following in my footsteps." When he was your age, he built a body swapping machine as well, and when his sister found it...
There's a note taped to the mirror. Your father pulls it down and opens it up.
"Kelly, I've had it up to here with your dramatics. You're not welcome in my house any more. Don't call or visit or even think about making contact with my family or I might do something horrible to myself.
-Mark"
Your father puts his palm to his forehead again. "She's going to try and steal my life. Like she could even pull it off?" As he read the note, your father had already calculated a dozen ways of getting his body back. He wasn't worried at all, just angry, and out to prove it to his sister that she couldn't possibly get away with this half-baked plan. And maybe prove a few other things, while he had the opportunity.
