Waking up as someone else

The remote feature of the body switching machine has two modes to it. One is a point and swap, which swaps the holder with the person they are aiming at. The second mode uses devices that look like airpods to allow for remote swapping between two people who don't have the remote. The second mode is a bit more dangerous as while it can allow swaps from greater distances it can also take a while for the swap to complete, leaving the two users in a comatose state, the further away the longer the transfer time.

After you finished the machine for the night, someone entered the garage and got a hold of the remote version of your machine. They went up to your room and placed the device in your ear. They found a second target for you and the next time you woke up you found yourself in another body...
