"I know you won't stop talking about it until I agree to it, Miki, so let's go ahead and check out those springs." Yuki said, clapping her close friend on the shoulder.
Miki's eyes seemed to light up, and Yuki could see her friend's trademark enthusiasm bubbling to the surface. Yuki and Miki had been close friends since they were very young, yet Yuki still found herself amazed at just how cheerful her friend could be sometimes. Case in point, she hadn't been expecting the borderline bone-crushing hug Miki pulled her into.
"You ROCK, Yuki!" Miki cheered. "Come on, come on! Let's get going!"
"Jeez, Miki, calm down a bit." Yuki said, trying to settle her friend down. "The springs aren't going anywhere. They'll be right where the brochure says, even if we walk."
Leaving behind an amused Jessica and an impassive Lily, Yuki allowed herself to be practically dragged along by her friend. Despite neither of them having ever been to the resort before, Miki had studied the map almost obsessively and knew the way to the hot springs by heart. In fact, it only took a few minutes for the two to find themselves at the entrance to their destination.
"Here we are!" Miki chirped. "This is gonna be so much fun!"
"Yeah. A real taste of our culture." Yuki offered somewhat tiredly. She certainly enjoyed her culture and had no problem with relating to it, but really anything from Yuki seemed half-hearted in comparison to Miki's enthusiasm.
The two stepped into the dressing room, each choosing a locker and stall to disrobe and wrap themselves in the provided towels before heading out to the springs proper. While Yuki disrobed, she was completely oblivious to the eyes of her friend intently watching her body.
Miki considered Yuki her best friend, and trusted her with everything. There were no secrets between the duo, save one: Miki was madly in love with her. In the beginning, Miki had figured her feelings were just normal feelings of close friendship, but as the two of them grew up, she began to realize the truth. Miki had dated one or two guys, but never felt any real attraction or desire with them. Nothing against guys in particular, she just... wasn't interested. The only problem was that Miki was certain Yuki wouldn't return her affections.
Miki had been privy to who Yuki had a crush on throughout the years, and had feigned interest herself to keep up the charade. Nothing had ever suggested Yuki had any attraction to her close friend, though Miki dearly hoped this was just her own blindness to certain cues. In any case, Miki had resolved that this vacation would be where she made her move. She wasn't going to live her life without trying to at least fulfill her dream, and now she had the object of her affections alone, clad in only a simple white towel.
There was another step to Miki's big dream, and it was thankfully one she could explain away with her usual love of Japanese culture. Yuki might find it a bit strange, but Miki knew she'd eventually give in and try it out. There was just the issue of how to introduce it. After all, it wasn't every day Miki-
