"C'mon, let's go see what other games there are!" Jenna said enthusiastically as she pulled my hand eagerly. Jenna could be just like a little kid sometimes, she was just so bubbly and happy all the time. It could be quite contagious sometimes.
"Haha, slow down, Jenna! Don't pull my arm out" I said, laughing as she tugged me along.
"Oooh, I wonder what this game is," she said, suddenly stopping in front of a large tent. Inside I could see that there were were rows of people in stocks and a small crowd watching the mirthful proceedings
"Glad you asked, dearie," a smartly-dressed young man with a colorful bowtie leaning against a sign outside the tent said. "Welcome to the Stocks of Fortune! Consider yourself a master tickler? Think you know the first thing about feathers?"
"Tickle them with the pointy end?" I offered, knowing full well it was meant as a rhetorical question.
"I wouldn't be so sure about that one, dear boy," the man shrugged. "But feel free to prove me wrong! Here at the Stocks of Fortune we give you the chance to showcase your tickling skills, and win some lovely prizes in the process!" He boomed loudly, reminding me a lot of those hammy game show hosts.
"Looks interesting. What's the game?" Jenna asked curiously.
"It's very simple, dear! Every stock has a number on it, from one to ten. If you can get our ticklish staff members to say 'stop', 'no more, ''mercy', or etc before the time limit, then you win a fabulous prize!"
"Time limit?" I asked, a little confused how this game worked.
"That's what the numbers are for, dear boy! Number five means you have five minutes to make 'em squeal for mercy! So choose wisely, the lower numbers will be easier, but the rewards will be smaller! I'm personally a fan of the higher numbers, as they say, take the risk, take the reward!" He gushed dramatically.
"What do you think, looks like fun, doesn't it? It'd be nice to not be on the receiving end of a tickling for once," Jenna giggled, prodding me in the ribs.
"What are you talking about? You tickle me more than I tickled you!" I chuckled, poking her back.
"So what do ya say, kids? It's fun for all ages!" The man said, trying to usher us in. I looked up at the colorful tent and bustling crowd inside.
