With the area properly scoped out you headed back down the creaking stairs to the snowy ground below. This blizzard would probably last for several more hours, at least, so any form of air travel was probably out of the question. At some point you would have to figure out an alternate method of escape, which wouldn't be easy given your severely limited resources. Oh well, that was a problem for later, right now you were only concerned about getting inside to fully assess the situation.
As you carefully made your way through the snowy forest you made sure to make as little noise as possible. Luckily, it was late and most animals had taken shelter from the hostile weather. As the lights of the police cars became visible again through the dense snowy foliage you slowed your pace a bit and drew your knife and stun gun. You didn't like the idea of having a big shootout with the cops and drawing attention, but at least now you'd be ready.
A large SWAT van was parked near the far edge of the parking lot and would provide some good cover, but there were a few agents talking nearby while looking off towards the woods. They must be guards, keeping an eye out for any members of the gang that ran off and decided to come back. They were looking away from you but could turn around at any moment and it was a good ten or twenty feet between the cover of the SWAT van and the nearest bush. Quite a risky way to go.
Hoping for more options you looked around at the cops and law enforcement agents keeping their eyes peeled on the building. No shooting had broken out yet, but that could change in a second, especially if you didn't hurry. The original plan was to sneak around back to avoid most of the assault crew, though it would be pretty tricky to accomplish that task if you couldn't find any safe avenues of infiltration.
There were a few thick bushes and elevated stone planters lining the parking lot, but a few other guards were patrolling them. Still pretty dangerous, one wrong turn and a fight could break out... and you weren't properly prepared for a fight on this scale, not even close. "There must be a safer way around." you whisper under your breath as you look at the woods surrounding the rest of the ski resort. It was probably too thick to sneak through quietly, but it could be the quickest option.
