With a deep breath you hop up onto the ground floor window and use it to grab a thin section of the outer wall that let you climb up to the upstairs balcony. You then pull yourself over the rail as the guard below heads back inside after watering the flowers, luckily he didn't spot you sneak in through the open door. Once you make it inside the bedroom you take a quick look around to make sure you're alone and notice a lot of valuables lying around the room.
"I don't have any room for paintings or furniture... but there are probably a few trinkets I can grab for some extra cash." you think to yourself as you head over to a cabinet in the corner of the room and begin searching it for valuables. Aside from some fine porcelain and other fragile junk you found nothing worth taking so you moved on to a large ornately decorated chest at the foot of the bed and used a bit of thermite to burn through the lock.
You pop the chest open and discover several jewelry boxes, expensive knick knacks and a few locked cases. After spending a good ten minutes looting everything you had room for you were ready to head out and get on with the job. Along with some necklaces, rings and cold hard cash you had found a rare coin collection that would draw in a huge sum if you could find a proper fence to take it off your hands.
You wait for a guard making his rounds to pass by the upstairs door and slowly move out into the upstairs hallway when you hear his footsteps trail off in another direction. "Looks like its clear, time to get to work!" you smile cheerfully as you withdraw a C4 charge from your explosives bag and attach it to the back of a statue where it wouldn't be spotted."One down, about a dozen to go."
You carefully creep down the hallway and locate a sturdy looking support structure near an alcove filled with pottery and modern art. "I hate to be a critic, but these works would look a look better burnt to embers in a giant ash heap." you joke as you rig up a few thermite charges and place another C4 package on the back of the support structure. "When this bad boy goes off everything in this area will be incinerated. It's a shame I can't take any of it with me but the pay I'm expecting for this job will be a nice compensation."
You carefully move around the upper floors and duck past a few more patrolling guards as you finish getting things set up. Once half of your explosives were set up you headed for the staircase to finish up with the ground floor when you come across two security guards talking while sitting on a sofa near the guest room. As you listen in you hear them talk about some valuables being moved into a safe room somewhere on the basement level of the house.
As the two get up to resume their duties you pause to think about your next move. Hitting the safe room would take a lot of time and would probably use up a lot of your remaining equipment, but there was definitely some real nice stuff locked up in there. You check your supplies and see that aside from a few more C4 charges all you had left was some spare thermite. Was it worth the risk? Or was finishing your main job more important?
You could always call in some support to deliver some supplies or back up, but that tended to get expensive and you would have to pay for the help whether you got into the room or not. What's your next move?
