As Jen exited the courtroom, reporters and photographers started to swarm her, as the entire incident was already being televised. So the entire world now knew that this average lawyer had the uncanny ability to transform into a massively obese green hulk. And the world wanted to know what exactly happened, and how she was able to do it. The reporters shouted their questions at her, but Jen was honestly more concerned with her shoes she left behind.
“Miss Walters! Miss Walters! How long have you been able to transform into a She-Hulk?”
“Miss Walters! Does this have any connection to your cousin Bruce?”
“Miss Walters! How come She-Hulk gains size in body fat instead of muscle?” The reporters questions just kept coming, and Jen finally decided to speak up, realizing that her shoes were truly lost forever.
“Look I’m sure you have a lot of questions, I’m sure the people watching, (or reading) this have the same ones. But I’ll have a press conference ready once the commotion around the trial today dies down.” Jen said before continuing to walk off. The reporters realized they had a better chance talking to Jen’s socialite para-legal Nikki, so most of them started bothering her instead.
“But I know you guys are all interested in the whole fat thing, so don’t worry, you’ll get the story right now.” Jen said referring to you again, “It all started a couple months ago.”
*TWO MONTHS AGO
Jen sped down the highway, going faster than she probably should have been going but she wasn’t thinking about that. She was having a conversation with her favorite cousin, Bruce. Bruce was another thinker in the family, someone that actually valued their intelligence over brute strength. Well, most of the time, Bruce had an unfortunate accident with a gamma bomb, that gave him the ability to transform into an unstoppable rage monster known as the Hulk. Sometimes he’s in control of the Hulk, sometimes he’s not, luckily this is one of those times he’s in control.
“So what’s Thor like in real life?” Jen asked her cousin, which actually got a small chuckle out of him.
“He’s very theatrical. And his hammer hurts like hell when it hits you across the jaw.” Bruce replied, clutching his chin in remembrance. Jen rolled her eyes and laughed.
“That’s really not what I meant, Bruce. Does he have a girlfriend?” Jen asked bluntly.
“Honestly we never had that kind of relationship. Pretty sure he’s into bigger, more Amazonian-type girls.” Bruce replied.
“Some high heels and a couple gym trips and I’m right there!” Jen squealed, before the car was violently taken off the road by a laser blast. The car flipped over and landed on upside down. Jen climbed her way out of the car, and looked toward the sky. She saw a large ship blast upward away from the ground, and the roar of the blast was horrific. But that paled in comparison to the sight of the Hulk emerging from the car and roaring into the sky. He turned around and looked at Jen, and that’s the last thing she recalled before passing out.
Jen woke up in a place she didn’t recognize, a lab, and she was lying down in a hospital bed. She had a bunch of bandages wrapped around her and tubes coming out of her. Bruce was to the side, working on something. Jen called out to him.
“Jen, thank god your awake. You really gave me a huge scare.” Bruce told his cousin, as she sat up and rubbed her head.
“What happened?” Jen asked.
“We’ll we got attacked by an alien warship. Possibly Kree or Sakarrson but I’m looking into it. You lost a lot of blood, and I had to think fast to save your life. I had to perform a blood transfusion.” Bruce explained, which explained the tubes.
“So you put your blood, which is infused with gamma radiation into me? Does that mean I have a Hulk now too?” Jen asked cautiously, remembering the news reports about what happened with Emil Blonsky after he got a dose.
“Yes, it seems very likely that you now have a Hulk transformation as well. We’re going to have to run some tests and I am well equipped to perform them.” Banner said, and Walters quickly agreed. Bruce placed her into a testing chamber, which was essentially a large glass room, with a giant wall opposite of Jen.
“Alright so this room is going to trigger a controlled transformation right?” Jen asked, and Bruce chuckled.
“Something like that.” Bruce replied, and he pressed a button. Spinning blades erupted from the wall, and it started rapidly approaching Jen. She started panicking, asking Bruce to shut the machine off, but he refused. As her stress grew, she felt something change within her, as she started to grow, in both height and width. She grew massively fat, and grabbed the wall and slammed it backward. Jen turned around to face Bruce, stared at his massively obese cousin in shock.
“Bruce…” Jen said, as Bruce’s eyes shot open.
“Jen?” Bruce asked, as his cousin smashed her way through the testing chamber. She started approaching Bruce, her entire body jiggling while she moved.
“I’m a whale Bruce!” Jen screamed, motioning toward her body. She grabbed her belly and bounced it up and down.
“But your also in control of your Hulk form from the very beginning this is incredible!” Bruce yelled, but Jen couldn’t not care less about that.
“Bruce, how come when you go green, you get muscles, and I get nothing but fat?” Jen asked, while Bruce shrugged his shoulders.
“It could be a difference between how gamma reacts to male and female bodies, or it could be something specific to you as a person. But if your worried about the fat, just try calming down and you should turn back into Jen.” Bruce said, and Jen finally breathed. Her massive body breathed steadily, in a desperate attempt to remain calm, and it actually worked. Jen shrunk back down to her regular size. She instantly shred a ton of weight, literally. Jen smiled upon seeing her smaller self, and Bruce did as well, but his computer stared blaring. He ran over to check on it and Jen wondered what could be wrong.
“What’s wrong? Am I gonna get fat again?” Jen asked, and Bruce looked over the results.
“It seems like your body retains left over weight when you transition back to Jen. You went into the pod at one hundred and ten pounds. Your Hulk form got up to twenty two hundred pounds, and now your Jen form is at roughly one hundred and twenty five. You keep fifteen pounds. We should really test this again see if it’s a constant.” Bruce said causing Jen to back up.
“And risk getting any heavier than I already am? No thanks Bruce, I’m good. That will be the last the world ever sees of the She-Hulk.” Jen said, causing Bruce to chuckle.
“I thought the same thing when I first transformed, that I would bury my emotions. But trouble has a way of finding people like us.” Bruce said, clearly reflecting on his past experiences. Jen approached him and gave him a hug, letting the two cousins embrace for a second. “I’m sorry I passed my curse to you.”
“You didn’t pass anything to me Bruce, you saved my life, because that’s the kind of man you are, a hero. And like I said, I can keep this thing inside of me. I’m a very zen person, and besides, when does a lawyer ever find themselves in truly stressful situations that would require a morbidly obese She-Hulk?” Jen asked with a smile.
*TWO MONTHS LATER
Jen walked out of the courthouse and climbed into her car, she then looked at you and said, “Yeah, that one really came back to bite me in the ass didn’t it?”
