Staring Adam watched as the welts and burns faded to nothing, leaving only torn and burnt places on his clothes to indicate he'd been hit. Blinking he realized he felt better, more alive than he'd ever felt in his entire life!
He glanced back at the watch, but it looked normal. Tapping it did nothing. No echoey voice in his head. No glowing. No spinning hands. Did he imagine this?
"Hello?" he whispered, then felt silly talking to a watch. But his clothes were still burned, the tree above him damaged too. Adam guessed the lightning hit that too.
What had happened?
Shaking it off he stood up and ran off, amazed he felt so full of energy.
Some time later Adam was back in his bedroom, staring at his watch as he sat on his bed. What was going on?
Staring he watched the hands go round, willing something odd to happen again. But nothing did. Idly he traced fingers across the glass where the seconds hand ticked away. Then the minute hand. Yeah, Adam guessed it was about an hour ago it happened? Huh, weird that...
The hands shuddered as they hit twelve minutes past eleven and the watch glowed. The hands spun madly, a sudden blur and he almost dropped the thing. Adam hadn't imagined it!
