Noriko Yamada looks around for where she had set her green tea. Once she finds it, she reaches for it and almost drops the ipod she had been wearing. Her quick reflexes are equal to the task, so she is surprised when she hears a crashing sound. In a moment she realizes the sound was from the next room. She puts a bookmark in her Chobits manga and goes to check the problem.
She sees her host Kaylee and her friends around a table; she thinks their names are Zoe, Tanya, and Carmen. They already seem annoyed.
"Sono... hello Kaylee. Is everything okay?" Noriko asked uncertainly. She notices they seem to be preparing to play a card game.
"Konnichiwa , Noriko-chan," Zoe greeted her.
"Zoe, I think you should be saying Noriko-san instead," Tanya interjected. "Or am I wrong?" she asked turning to Noriko.
"Sono, either is okay," she answered, putting a hand behind her head as a response to the unwanted attention.
"Anyway, yes--we're okay. A glass just go knocked over," Kaylee said. "Sorry if we startled you. Feel free to help yourself to the living room tv and any of the downstairs snacks."
"Hey, Noriko," Carmen said, having just finished sweeping up the glass shards and dumping them unceremoniously in the garbage. "You wanna play a little game?" she asked in the best Jigsaw voice she could.
"Wha-what are you playing?" she asked and takes a tentative step toward the table.
"I don't know..." Tanya said, as she picks up the cards and starts shuffling them.
"We're going to play strip poker. I didn't think you'd be interested, but if you are, you're welcome to join," Kaylee explained and head gestures to the table.
"I'm glad we hadn't started yet," Zoe said as she pulls a chair over for Noriko.
"Hey, she hasn't agreed yet. You've already semi-coerced me into this; let's not force her into it too," Tanya said as she puts the cards down, not wanting to deal out the high card yet.
"Sono... I'll play. But may I stop if I don't like it?" Noriko asked, her hand returning to behind her head.
"That's kind of against the spirit of the game," Zoe answered and crosses her arms. Carmen nods in agreement.
"Still, if you choose to, you can. It's about having fun, after all; but try to decide early on," Kaylee said.
"And you'd need to leave. No free shows," Zoe added.
Noriko blushes slightly and considers before nodding. "Okay. Is it Texas Hold Em?"
"You know, we didn't decide," Kaylee said and scratches her head. "Which poker games does everyone now?"
"All of them," Tanya said confidently and resumes shuffling impatiently.
"Me too, but I prefer draw games: high, low, or both," Carmen said and walked over to grab some snacks.
"I've played most games, except I don't care for stud," Zoe added and joined Carmen in snacking.
"Me, I having knowledge of most games, but I don't care for the low ones. Noriko?" Kaylee asked.
"I-I'm good with anything," she answered.
Kaylee nods. "Right. So how about we vote for High 5 Card Draw, Hold Em, or Omaha? Everyone good with that?"
Kaylee looks around and everyone nods or quietly consents.
