She made enough money to help Patrick.

Lois was happy to hear that thanks to her help, the institution managed to hire new doctors and equipment that were used to help patients like Patrick. After weeks of therapy, Patrick was finally released and sane. Lois offered to let Patrick live with her until he could afford his own house. Some members of the family were skeptical, but irregardless Patrick moved in with them again. At first, Lois thought that by winning the pie eating competition she made things better. Unfortunately, there was one thing she didn't count on.
