"Good morning Ms. Knight!"

Ashley raised an eyebrow as Hester smiled warmly at her before replying. "Good morning Hester. Feel like actually pushing yourself today?"

"Yup!"

"We'll make sure she does," another student piped up. This one was Mia, the quietest of this bunch of students, though her wheezes when attempting sit-ups and squats weren't that much less grating to Ashley than the others.

"Good," Ashley replied, wondering why she was being engaged in conversation by these girls. They were usually all silent while she barked out the exercise of the day.

She was about to ask why they were suddenly so keen for her class when she saw an apple attached to a fat arm in front of her face.

It was Monique Rodriguez, certainly not the thinnest out of her students, though none of them were anywhere close to Ashley's ideal of health.

"What's this for?"

"For handling us so well. It must be pretty hard to deal with kids like us who aren't exactly exercise material."

Ashley thanked her and took a swift bite of the apple.

While she was chewing, she noticed Lauren Grant, often so sedentary except when forced to jog, actually doing warm-up stretches.

Was she drugged?

Why were these students being so lively today?
