Ashley grimaced a little as she turned around in her chair, eyes now focused on the woman opening her door.

"Hello Ms. Knight, just thought I'd stop by for lunch and a chat, if you don't mind."

Ashley just nodded, holding her tongue at the sight of Ms. Polluck's lunch, which consisted of a bulging, greasy, bag of fast food and a large soda, which she took hearty sips of before grabbing an extra chair and sitting across from the former coach.

Ashley poked at her iceberg lettuce and chicken while taking small drinks from her water bottle.

"How are your classes going?"

"As well as can be expected though I had to make an example of some troublemakers."

"Yes, yes, I understand. Teenagers can be quite the handful sometimes. What did you have them do?"

"Run laps around the hallway."

Ms. Polluck made a murmur of understanding while working her way through a huge slab of a burger, daintily wiping her mouth of excess sauce afterwards, and held out an extra burger towards her employee.

"A treat for your example."

Ashley nodded and accepted the burger, the scent making her stomach rumble a bit, hoping Ms. Polluck hadn't heard the noise.

Opening the wrapper, a part of Ashley rebelled against the excess and empty calories represented in the chunk of dead cow in front of her but another part thought it looked delicious despite all that. Picking it up, she took a bite, wondering if she had just been given permission to continue her special kind of examples with any uppity students.
