Jean slammed the door to the limo and flipped off the driver as he drove off, hauling her luggage towards her dorm herself. She had packed light, she didn’t plan to be here long. Her behavior over the last few months had gotten her thrown out of every respectable girl’s school in Britain. After that, her family was forced to bring her slightly closer to home in ‘the States’. Jean had spent so much time at boarding schools, far away, that she alone in her family spoke with a British accent. She wasn’t close with her parents.
But they were shipping her off to this dump. In America. In...somewhere in the South. Jean figured it would be full of hillbillies. Really, everyone was a hillbilly when you were a Vandergriff. Even the rich girls at a place like this seemed clawing, and nouveau riche to the exacting standards Jean was raised for.
Not that she was living up to those standards herself. Recently, Jean had taken a pair of hair clippers to her scalp and shaved the whole thing off, just a light dusting of red hair coming back in. She stormed her way up to her dorm, ignoring the freshman orientation she was supposed to attend. She’s already attended three, what was the point?
Instead, she headed straight to her dorm. Luckily, she had at least talked her parents, and brothers and various...intermediary personal assistants into not making a big to-do about her arrival today. Just a scheduled appointment with a Ms. Mia Underwood she was blowing off, and an arrival in an ordinary dorm...
