“You know, that's actually a pretty good point,” says Jess from inside my old body. “I mean, sure I love being a bigger, older, stronger guy now. But I don't exactly want you ruining my life accidentally. And right now, you don't know anything about how to be a girl, much less anything about the particular details of my life.”
“See, that's what I'm saying,” you reply, trying not to be too distracted by Jess' new, hunky, muscular body. Whew! It seems the hormones in her – check that – in your body right now are on overdrive. Who knew the body of your sister's best friend had such a crush on you?
“Wait a minute,” interrupts Cassie. “Don't I get a say in any of this? Sure, I'm happy to use my amulet to switch the two of you around, but I never said I wanted to get switched with somebody too.”
“You have to Cassie,” says Jess. “Dan is going to need advice on how to be a girl and how to live my life. As my BFF, you're the logical choice. Besides, Dan and I already switched. If we can do it, so can you. Come on!”
“Well,” says Cassie, clearly stalling. “Who's going to agree to switch with me? And who would be close enough to Dan to help guide him the next month in how to be Jess?”
“Well,” you say back to Cassie. “The two of you just told me I was supposed to be home babysitting my younger brother right now …”
“No!” says Cassie.
“It's a great idea actually,” Jess says. “If you become my baby brother, you'll be at home all day long and able to help guide the new Jess in her life for the next month.”
“I don't want to be your little brother!” Cassie says.
“But it's perfect,” Jess continues. “While I'm Dan, I can help keep the new Cassie out of trouble. It just makes perfect sense for us both to switch with one another's siblings. Come on, Cassie. I became a guy, Dan became a girl, now it's your turn to become a boy.”
