Chapter #10The Crimson Order by: Yote The Crimson Order studies the lores of Pyromancy and Demonology. Formidable in battle through their mastery over fire, their combat capabilities are enhanced by their ability to summon demonic minions.
Pyromancy
A Crimson wizard can create, grow, and mould fire into whatever shape or size they desire through a simple act of willpower. They can turn the smallest spark into an all-consuming conflagration or create terrifying beasts of flame that chase down their opponents and sow terror into the most stalwart of armies.
Manipulating fire comes at a cost; the fuel that sustains the magic fire comes directly from the wizard's body, drawn from their own energy reserves. Overexertion in the use of pyromancy can leave the wizard physically exhausted and emaciated.
This energy usage encourages wizards to stock up on this 'fuel' by building fat reserves. Master pyromancers are well known for their great girth, and often have to be carried into battle on litters.
Demonology
Summoning a demon, especially for the first time, is a dangerous and difficult procedure. A demon's physical form must be shackled and bound to anchor them to this world. Additionally the allegiance of the demon must be gained lest it wreak untold destruction. The easiest means of doing so is by entering into a pact with the creature, receiving its temporary servitude in exchange for something offered by the wizard, usually in the form of sustenance whether that be blood, flesh, or souls. So long as the wizard maintains his side of the bargain, demons are physically incapable of breaking the terms of the agreement.
Alternatively a demon can be dominated, its mental defenses beaten down through pleasure and pain. Once broken, a demon may be cajoled into forming pacts that it otherwise would never make; i.e. offering its servitude to its master eternally in exchange for nothing.
To this end, Crimson wizards are experienced in the application of pleasure and pain through torture and (usually) sex. As such these wizards are allowed to live relatively unhindered lifestyles, freely practicing their arts of ecstasy, torture, dominance, and submission. They are not required to submit to the libido-sapping effects of the lech. In order to further their study, crimson wizards are expected to spend at least one year as the opposite sex, jokingly referred to as a 'gap year' by male wizards.
The Crimson College frequently holds great masked balls where it's students may practice their acts of bondage on lesser demons, serving girls, and each other.
They wear robes of red and black.
Fireball - a basic fireball spell
Invoke minor demon - can summon imps, gremlins, and hobgoblins
Invoke demon - summons a demon of average power.
Invoke archdemon - summons a powerful demon to beat people up for you.
Pleasure - the wizard's touch induces sensations of great ecstasy.
Pain - the wizard's touch induces sensations of unbearable agony.
Demon form - the wizard adopts the physical manifestation of a summoned demon as his or her own, gaining its appearance, attributes and powers.
Shadow assassin - A spell used by female wizards. Following sexual intercourse, a female wizard can induce an accelerated pregnancy resulting in the birth a creature of shadow. This "shadow baby" resembles the "father" and will perform a single task, including assassination, without fail, before fading away.
Hell jumping/ Fel walking - temporarily shifts you into the demon's netherworld before bringing you back. Due to spatial differences in the dimensions, moving only a short distance in the netherworld will cause you to have covered a large distance once returned to the real world, making this a very efficient way to travel, except for the hordes of soul-consuming demons that lurk on the other side. Statistically speaking, is still the most dangerous way to travel.
Summon portal portal - produces a stable portal to the demon netherworld, allowing unlimited two-way travel between realms. Generally not advisable.
Invoke Djinn - summons a demon lord of near limitless, reality-bending power. In return, the wizard's soul is cast into the deepest circle of hell to suffer in infinite agony. The wizard's body is transmuted into a vessel for the demon, often something small and innocuous like a box or lamp. The Djinn can be commanded by anyone holding its vessel to do almost anything. However, while it must obey, it is a cunning and deeply malevolent entity and will attempt to twist and pervert any command it is given. In effect, only the truly insane have ever performed this spell and few Djinn vessels exist. While Djinn may be given unlimited commands, nobody has ever made it past three wishes with their mind or body intact.
Toll
With the progression of the toll, the wizard's behaviour grows increasingly depraved as their moral sensibilities decay. They tend to gravitate towards one or more of the Six Sins: Lust, Greed, Gluttony, Sloth, Wrath, and Pride.
In addition, the wizard gradually takes on a demonic appearance. Ultimately they resemble nothing more than natural demons (in so much that a demon can be called natural) in both body and mind, and are often Bound by other Crimson Order wizards once they become a danger to themselves and others. Many, mistaken for demons, are simply banished to hell.
