Chapter #6

The Elements of Vore

    by: Nightwolf Author IconMail Icon
After so long, it had come to this. After freeing Equestria from the Iron-Fisted rule of Discord, after halting the Griffon Kingdom's global conquest, even after establishing a tenuous ceasefire with the Dragons of the Western Badlands, Celestia thought that she and Luna had vanquished the mightiest foes that would ever stand before her. How wrong she was. Never in all her wildest dreams, her most outlandish imaginings...her darkest nightmares...had she ever thought that her beloved sister, the princes Luna, would betray her.

It wasn't Luna's fault. Celestia had kept that fact well in mind as she battled desperately against the twisted perversion her sister had become. It's not her fault, not entirely. *I'm as much to blame for this as she is! Why didn't I do more to prepare her for the burden of ruling? Why didn't I warn her that moving the heavens is all to often a thankless task?!* Celestia's shame fueled a charge of white-hot energy in her horn, which she loosed at the ebony demon in front of her, trying with all her might to just get in one good hit, that might stun her opponent. Then, maybe she could reason with Luna - or whatever she had become. Then she might restore peace in her lands once more.

*It's possible she's still Luna - still in there somewhere! Please let it be possible...* Another bolt of energy shot from Celestia's horn like a howitzer. *Please...?*

For her part, Nightmare Moon - The name that this evil simulacrum of Luna had taken for herself - was more than a match for the daytime ruler before her. Any attempt by the princess to damage her met with utter futility; bolts of light meant to connect with the would-be usurper connected with fog; Celestia conjured magical locks and chains to ensnare her, and Nightmare Moon conjured the keys to those locks; Celestia used telekinesis to hurl large objects, Nightmare Moon breathed out a miasma so thick and corrosive that those objects disintegrated completely. What Celestia would call a battle for the ages, Nightmare Moon called child's play.

"You are weak, Celestia! I should have rebelled against you eons ago!" Nightmare Moon bellowed, shaking the battlefield with an imperious authority. "You and your pathetic day are not fit for this country - not fit for my country!"

Struggling to her hooves, a tear formed in Celestia's eye. *This wasn't supposed to happen! This, this thing can't be my sister! I used to feel such a rich harmony between us and-*

Of course! That was the answer to stopping Luna from losing herself forever! The Elements of Harmony!

Celestia would have to be quick. She charged up more energy, this time turning herself into a beam of light that shot straight up and away from the conflict, ricocheting off of invisible things in the air toward the hiding place of the Elements.

"How very typical of my elder sister." Nightmare Moon noted coldly, "Running from difficulty is truly what she does best." The she-devil wrapped her starlight mane around herself like a cloak and transformed into a cloud of blue effervescence, following her radiant sister close behind.

Within the dimly lit clearing, on a pedestal, rested the five orbs representing the Elements of Harmony; one for Honesty, one for Loyalty, one for Laughter, one for Generosity and one for Kindness. Celestia stood in front of the pedestal, light radiating from her horn and all around her. Normally, wielding the Elements by oneself would be impossible, since the sixth Element - the Element of Magic, the only Element that had no material form - could only be awakened by a close bond. It was only because they were sisters and endured so much together that the Alicorn sisters were able to use the Elements against Discord. No matter how fervently she wished, no matter how devotedly she prayed, no matter how she demanded, the Elements remained dead-as-a-door-nail stones. That was when she heard the sound of Nightmare Moon's mocking laughter.

"Was this your plan, dear sister?" The cloud of night sky descended and formed once more the body of Nightmare Moon. "You know as well as I do that it takes more than one to activate the power of the Elements of Harmony!"

Celestia remained silent. Her face indignant and angry, tears of rage mixed with tears of fear and rolled down her regal face, now matted with dirt, blood and the salt water from her eyes. She turned to face her enemy. Elements or no Elements, she was determined to finish this.

"How dare you look at me that way?" Nightmare shrieked. "I am the one who has been betrayed! NOT! YOU!" She let fly a black jet of hate at Celestia, determined to make her feel just a fraction of the anguish she had felt for years. The jet collided with a barrier of light Celestia had wrapped herself in, causing it to disperse into a thousand tiny demonic phantoms and dissipate. Shocked that, at last, one of her spells had failed to find its mark, Nightmare Moon was caught off guard for Celestia's retaliation.

"SHUT! UP!" Celestia reared up on her hind legs and stamped the ground, turning her light-shield into a wave of solar heat that slammed into Nightmare Moon with the force of a meteor, singeing her coat and launching her backwards, stunned and moaning. "YOU ARE NOT MY SISTER, FIEND!" A small sphere of white flame launched from behind Celestia toward the creature, the fire clinging to her and making it difficult for her to move or concentrate. "LUNA IS KIND!" Another ball of fire assaulted Nightmare. "LUNA IS CARING!" And another. With each declaration of Luna's better nature, another orb would launch itself seemingly from out of nowhere, until Nightmare Moon was covered in a silver-white blaze. Some small part of the two must have known that they were the Elements' doing, though why they came to life now was anyone's guess, the Elements were forged from a magic as old as the planets themselves, and no one could honestly say they had any insight as to their workings.

"Now..." Celestia dawned a deadly-calm demeanor, standing triumphantly over the writhing nightmare monster. "For your punishment, monster: For the crime of kidnapping, corrupting, and robbing me of my dear sister, for assaulting the princess of Equestria, for threatening the lives of my subjects, I hereby banish you to the most unforgiving dungeon in the cosmos!"

What happened next, nopony could have foreseen.

The earth began to rumble so fiercely that lesser creatures would fear it might split open and swallow the very mountains. An flame covered Nightmare Moon rocketed straight up into the night sky screaming. A great force pulled open Celestia's maw and her head jerked upwards, facing the heavens. Then, the fire engulfed Nightmare Moon shot down towards the earth at an angle, facing forward, she had a perfect view of where she was going: right down Celestia's throat.

All that could be heard was a great, earsplitting "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooo" that started out as such, but became muffled and muted as Nightmare Moon was forced down. Down into the vengeful belly of Princess Celestia, who was every bit as surprised as her enemy at the turn of events.

The battle, and magic of the Elements had tired both Alicorns greatly, and in less than a second, they both drifted from consciousness. The artificial night that Nightmare Moon created gave way, as a golden-white star resumed its proper place in the sky.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------

Some few hours past before Celestia roused from slumber. Remembering the battle and its resolution, she looked at her stomach to discover that...
