Applejack looked over the Apple field from her house, hundreds of Apple trees as far as the eyes could see. But it wasn't just plowing or Applebucking all day long. Bandits, thieves, wild critters and sneaky ponies had taken valuable crops from the Apple family, bits and bits worth of Apple gone because of a couple of bad apples.
Sometimes Applejack or somepony else had been able to drive them off, but they always came back a few months later. Applejack was tired of this, as an Apple farmer it was her job to protect her crops. She had been brainstorming but didn't find a solution for months but an idea finally showed itself. It wasn't pretty ponies were sure to notice something different with Applejack, but atleast it was permanant.
The sun was lowering, it was almost time. She looked over to see if anypony was around.
