You giddily splash water on your face, as you hasten through your morning. Grinning at your reflection like the world has just been offered to you on a silver platter. You run your fingers through your long hair as you attempt to calm yourself. However, you can't help but think, that in essence the world sort of was offered to you, because today you're bonding with a dragon. You can't stop the squeal that accompanies the thought. Twirling yourself in a circle and flopping onto your back into the mattress of your bed, you stare exuberantly at the ceiling.
"I can't believe this is happening!" You say to yourself, practically vibrating out of your skin. Your cheeks threaten to split with the ferocity of your grin. You can see it now, standing side by side with a the magnificent and powerful creature. You hope you end up with a girl, it's really the only thing you want from a partner at this time. You sigh dreamily just thinking about how much your life is going to change once you're linked mind and soul with someone else.
"Irene!" Your mother calls from down stairs.
"Coming!" You respond quickly. Shooting into a sitting position, you scramble off of your bed heading for the door. You trip on your way there, stubbing your toe on the wood floor. Throwing your arms out you grab hold of the frame with a slight yelp to keep from falling any further.
