The rules are as following.
You play a normal round of poker but instead of betting money, you bet traits of yourself. The traits can be anything you can name. The traits are not equal in worth, some are more worth than others. A list can be found below.
The game will be played like a normal poker game, you bet and the one with the best hand wins. The winner can choose to either swap his traits with those in the pot or swap these with the other players. You can't swap back traits you had when you began the game. It is possible to win and lose other traits throughout the game. For example it is possible that Henry get's a vagina, loses it and wins the same again during the game. He can't swap his own penis back.
Swapping ages or genders does not change you physical. People just think of you that you're that old or the opposite gender.
It doesn't matter what you bet, it is possible that there are several of the same trait in the pot. It's not possible to swap a hand for a foot or something like that.
At the start of every hand, two people have to place a pot. The person dealing has to give in traits worth 1 points, the person right to him/her has to give traits worth 2 point. That then circules clockwise the next hand.
When someone set bets, the other players have to bet equal or more points to continue playing, e.g. Andrea has a bets traits worth 4 points, then the other will have to bet traits worth 4 or more points.
Reality adjusts to the swaps. It is only possible to leave the game table in between hands not when the game is played.
All swaps can be reversed any time after three days when all players gather, put their hands on the card box and saying a magical formula.
Trait - Points
Small body parts (e.g hands, feet, lips... etc) - 1 Point
Small Possessions (e.g. jewelry, single books, single dvds) - 1 Point
One clothing article - 1 Point
Personal Infos (e.g. Age, name... etc) - 1 Point
Larger body parts (e.g. torso, legs, face... etc) - 2 Points
'Medium' Posessions (e.g. small personal library, DVD collections) - 2 points
Skills - 2 Points
Male/ Female body parts - 3 Points
Major posessions (e.g. cars, houses) - 3 Points
Gender - 3 Points
Personality changes - 4 Points
Whole Outfit - 4 Points
Life - 5 Points
"Okay...", mumbled Henry. It took him some time to understand what they had just said.
Manuela smiled at him."I know it's hard to believe. I couldn't believe it myself when they told me this when I got here 2 years ago but it's real. Every teacher knows of the cards and we all occasionally play together. Normal we play on mondays and swap back on fridays. Sometimes we stay swapped over the weekend.".
It was almost too much for Henry. He could not believe what he heard. "You're crazy, right?".
Andrea shook her head. "No, we're telling the truth.". Her husband nodded. "Yup. I was the bride of my daughter's wedding.", he laughed. Henry remembered that Andrea told him that they had a daughter a year younger than Manuela.
"Let's just try it out, ok?".
Henry nodded and Manuela began dealing the cards. "Since I'm dealing, I'll have to put traits worth 1 point in the pot. Since Theodore is sitting left to me and is clockwise the next one, he has to put two points in.", she explained while dealing.
Then everyone had their cards, the box was placed in the middle. "Okay... Let's see...", mumbled Manuela. "I'll set my shoes.".
Then suddenly a hologram emerged from the box and it showed black boots with a 2-inch heel just like the ones Manuela was wearing. The hologram floated over to Manuela.
Henry gasped amazed. A second ago he thought these people were crazy but he was suddenly believing them.
The others were unimpressed and Theodore was making his choice. "I'll set my hair and my nose.", he said and an image of hair which looked like Theodore's appeared as well as an image of a nose which resembled Theodore’s greatly and floated over to the biology teacher.
Now that everything was set, they started playing. Henry looked at his cards and smiled. "Not bad.", he thought. He looked over to the others.
"Let's start small...", said Andrea. "I'll set my dress.", she said and an image of her dress was floating beside her.
"I'll fold.", said Edward. "This hand is just no good.".
"Okay then. I'll raise. I'll set my face and my job.", said Erica and an image of her face appeard floating beside her and a small holographic sheet of paper with "girl's coach" written on it.
Henry gulped. It was his turn to place a bet. "Erm... I'll bet...", he said. "You now have to bet traits worth 3 points, remined Manuela.
"Er... yeah... thanks...", he stummered and looked at the points list. "Let's see...".  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
