Swap Go Fish

"Right," Chris said, moving his hands around a bit as he spoke, "Here's how it works. It's basically Go Fish, BUT," he put heavy emphasis on 'but', stretching it out, "When you make a pair, you can switch something with the person you got the card from. When you get rid of your hand, you can choose to swap something between two other people who still have cards, or you can wait a while and make someone's choice of swap for them. The last person to get rid of their hand, not counting the person who is left with cards, won't get to do this because there won't be enough people left with cards. If you take longer than two kinutes to decide what you're gonna swap, something random will be swapped. Got it?"

"Yeah, pretty much," Jessica replied, trying to focus on the words rather than the elaborate hand gestures. "It's basically Go Fish, but with swaps."

"Exactly," Alice randomly burst forth.

"So why do you call it swap poker rather than swap go fish?"

"Sounds better." Jessica had nothing to say to that, and just nodded.

"I should probably explain how you initiate the swaps," Sam said. Chris made a face as if he was internally facepalming for not explaining those. Sam continued, "When you want to swap, you say 'I want to swap X'. If you choose to swap two other people, you say, 'I want Y and Y to swap X'. to choose to wait and alter someone else's swap, you say, 'I will wait to swap'. When chaning someone else's swap, you say, 'I change Y's swap to X'. In all of these, X is a thing to swap and Y is a person, understand?"

"Yeah, let's do this."

"Righty-o," Chris said rather loudly, as he began shuffling the cards. "We usually play three hands, and we go anti-clockwise."

"Why anti-clockwise?"

Ben answered this time, "Because we can."

Chris dealt out 5 cards to each person then stuck the rest of the cards in the middle.

Alice started, "Oh, lucky me, a pair right off the bat." She put a pair of twos on the table. "Let's see... Jess, do you have any Jacks?"

Jessica shook her head. "Go fish."

After Alice had picked up a card, Snow looked slyly at Ben, who had a terrible Poker face by the way, and said, "Ben, do you have any sevens?"

Ben tossed a seven of hearts across the table, saying, "Why must my lucky number betray me so?"

Putting down her pair of sevens, Snow said, "I want to swap...
