"Nah." you say. "It sounds like they'll be doing girly stuff."

Later, on the way home, your father brings it up again. "I think you should spend some time with Joanne and her girls. You're going to be family soon."

"I don't want to go dress shopping with them." you say.

"Okay. You don't have to go dress shopping" he says. "But Lisa's birthday party is next weekend. Maybe you could help out."
