Hoanna and Gretel lived under a castle on a hill for all there life's. The two girls were siblings, they where old enough now that they were not dependent on their parent's who were poor peasants, but the girls continued to depend upon watch other and were seldom apart from on an other.
Hoanna was the older ine of the two siblings.
She was not her parents first child, but she was their oldest livening child. Their farther had hoped for a strong baby boy to be born when she was instead. Theor mother had chosen a boys name to apease hee hudand's wish fir a sturty boy to be born, but when the girl came she named her Hoanna instead of what she had been ready to name her som. Though Hoanna did not seam a very robust child she had lived and Gretel too after her lived and it was good and though they would be poor they were happy.
One day the girl ventured a little farther out from the castle on the hill then they normay would and they were lost in the woods.
They had been hunting mushrooms when they lost track of where in the world they where.
