As Hansel and Gretel try to find a way back home via a detour, they spotted a middle aged woman, who looked around the late 30's coming towards their direction. Normally people tend to walk past, ignoring anyone walking by. But for some reason, the woman seemed to be surprised to actually see two kids in this area, which made Hansel feeling a bit confused when she spoke out by the time they got close to each other.
"My My, are you two getting lost along the way?" A woman asked looking somewhat curious rather than concerned about their safety as such.
"Well... no!" Hansel can reply, and try to explain everything just to get away from her. "We're just taking on the detour after our path we used to go to is closed for repairs.
"Oh, I see!" A woman gradually understood their explanation, before she inadvertently asked with an offer. "I bet you might need to take a break and maybe have loads of food in my house, if you wanna come over?"
"No thanks! I think I'm..." However, as much as Hansel tries to move, Gretel was more of an opposite and cuts him off, and actually smiled about that offer from a woman itself!
"Oh yes please! I hate school food anyway, so I have nothing to eat since breakfast." That was Gretel's own admission, which she had a disdain towards school foods which are horrible with no tastes of flavour whatsoever.
"What, Gretel! Mom's gonna make your favourite dinner tonight, so we better hurry!" Hansel tries to reassure his little sister, but again, she wouldn't care.
"I don't care!" Gretel fights back. "Besides, she seems to be a nice lady, so I'm going to her house and gonna eat a whole ton of food, whether you like it, or not?"
That's when Hansel had to think this through, since he really needed to go home and chill out throughout the day. He could easily leave Gretel to be with a woman all by themselves, but he would be worried about finding a place his sister may be taken to, and something was way off about a woman's approach, which really didn't sit well for him. Finally, after a thought about the possibilities, he would let out a huge sigh and reply unenthusiastically while staring at the ground looking defeated in all.
"Okay, Gretel! We're going to the lady's place." Hansel said in a defeated tone, making Gretel cheered with a huge smile on her face.
"Thank you both of you!" A woman smiled cheerfully, before she urged them to follow her. "Come with me, and I'll take you to my home. Oh, my name's Rosina by the way."
Gretel smiled with a nod, and quickly goes with a woman now named Rosina, whilst Hansel was still looking a lot nervous but had to go ahead in case something feels way off. It was just a 5 minute walk from where they met, and it was only when Rosina arrived back to her place, letting the kids see her home looking like...
