Tails and three others, including his friend Sonic, are selected to fly the new jet fighters on their first combat mission. Their mission is to kill approaching reconnaissance and fighter planes. Only the Germans have seen the jet so the element of surprise is key.
The squad begins patrol and sees five enemy P51s approaching. "Show no mercy. SPLIT!" They split formation and attack their own targets. Tails goes after the leader. They make a head on pass and Tails' 4 30mm canons make quick work of the American. Tails then targets the enemy lead's wingman. He try to climb away but the jet easily keeps pace. Tails fires. The Mustang literally blows up.
Tails' squadron mates have each killed the fighter they targeted. Tails sees a glimmer of hope for the situation.
