Ela decided to head straight to the forest because she had never been one for being around people. She felt awkward because of the staring and whispered comments which made her angry but in the forest she could commune with wildlife and nature. It helped to center her and make her calm while civilization always seemed to enrage her. The elders encouraged her to balance her duel nature but it was hard to do when there was little she wanted from her human half.
She drew on a little of her powers to help silence her movement through the tree tops with hardly enough of a pause to bend the branches much less break any of them. Many of her fellow druids marveled at the movement but it came so naturally to her it was hard to be proud of the ability, but she did enjoy the feeling of the breeze through her dark fur as she raced towards a target.
It didn’t take her long to spot a troll lumbering through the forest towards the town bent on attacking. The creatures were forces of destruction bent on killing things and eating them raw. They often latched onto more intelligent monsters because they didn’t have the knowledge to make tools or clothing. A single troll would be an easy kill but it might lead her to others or it could have been sent on a mission by an orc. It was wearing a simple loin cloth, which suggested it might be working for someone.
Her tail twitched with anticipation as Ela decided what to do next. Her body wanted the thrill of the kill but she needed to quell the urge if she was ever to become a master druid. All things, even trolls, had a part in the circle of life, but if that was true, where was her spot in the order of things. Surely there was room for a predatory cat person.
