The waiter lingered at the table after he poured the wine staring at her chest. A slight upturn of a smile formed on Temperance’s face as she noticed the lust filled attention but decided against making a big deal about it as the man was rather young and probably didn’t realize he was doing it. Finally, the waiter broke his gaze away from the hypnotic nature of the pillow like mounds and turned bright red as he scurried away from the table. It was a nice feeling to command that attention from the young man but her target for tonight was far more mature and experience. There was a nice view of the ground below and the beautiful night sky to help with the romance.
“My, aren’t you looking lovely this evening,” the honey voice of Duke Sebastian were whispered into her ear before he sat across from her.
Temperance was pleased to see that he had brought a small box with him. She was a little surprised he hadn’t brought a bodyguard with him on board the airship. He was known to be very good with a rapier but powerful people like him often took extra protection with them on business. The person was likely protecting his goods because seducing someone was generally a one on one operation though if the rumors were true the Duke wasn’t adverse to two or three on one.
“Thank you,” she smiled. “Is that box for me?”
“That depends on how well you behave,” he teased.
“From what I have heard you don’t mind a naughty girl. Would you like to try my wine, it has spectacular flavor.”
He lifted her glass and took a swallow, “Delicious. Open the box and see if my taste is as fine as yours.”
She did as requested and discovered an expensive silver necklace with many large and beautiful emeralds. It would look perfect with her appearance but she noticed some symbols on it that could be arcane, she would have to look at her books to be certain of the origins. It looked like he wanted her to wear it and it might insult him if she didn’t wear it but when dealing with magic it was always good to be cautious. It was such an expensive gift that she wondered if it was worth the risk to put it around her neck. Men like him liked the challenge so perhaps she could win more favor by refusing the gift for now.
