Follow the Brute

    by: bolgerjc Author IconMail Icon
It would be easier to deal with the brute for the moment, she wasn’t certain how many guards might be in on this but it more important for the time being to discover if this man was from the caravan or if he was an outsider. She slipped behind the guard for a brief moment before following the brute, she lifted a dagger and the coin purse from the man before easing away, it was only right he pay her back for some of the trouble he had caused her this night.

Following the man proved to be easy in the soft dirt and his grumbling only made the job easier, he paused a moment to look around for observers as he exited the circle of wagons but failed to notice the golden-haired beauty hidden in the shadows. She was tempted to sneak back to her wagon to gather more equipment, she decided to continue the pursuit at least to see if he was alone if it was a group.

There was too much open area for her comfort but as soon as the man went over the crest of the hill she darted across the earth only slowing her pace when she reached the top of the hill. Her chest was far from being designed for crawling but she made the best of it, silently cursing the man who had designed this form, she might have to find him and make the man take the shape to see how well he enjoyed moving around with breasts the size of the finest melons.

Her eyes caught sight of a small encampment of bandits talking in quiet tones to the brute she had been following. Only five could be seen, certainly not enough to overtake the entire caravan but they were clearly up for making some trouble. A couple of people were bound to a stake in the ground and it appeared they had an empty wagon ready to take any spoils they might be able to secure. Cautiously she edged closer to try and hear what they were discussing.

“I am telling you, he doesn’t get a cut unless we make some profit,” a snake man his fork tongue flicked heavily in emphasis.“ He should have helped you get the girl if he wants money.”

“There were too many people up for us to do a search, he has to be careful, if they discover what the guard is up to they will torture and execute him,” he explained taking a step back out of bite distance.

“I don’t care, do you think the slaves we had came to us and bound themselves? My coins are hard earned and I will not give them out unless they are earned.”

“If you give me just one more day I think I can get the girl and her wagon.”

“Fine, we will meet you at the oasis tomorrow night, if you fail you shall find that I am not a forgiving man.”
