James and Aaron

After a long day at work, James had finally made it home. However, as he opens the door, he is greeted by garbage bags, a sink full of dishes, and his roommate Aaron watching TV on the couch.
“Hey man what’s up?” Aaron says from the couch.
“Ah hey…” he says still looking at the dishes. “Yea, could you toss me that big of chips on the counter?” he says crumbling the bag he had just finished and tossing it behind him.
James then takes a deep breath and walks toward the counter, “Hey isn’t it your week to do the dishes?” he says quietly tossing the bag to him.
Aaron catches the bag, “Thanks, ah yeah don’t worry I’ve got it, just waiting for the sink to fill up.” He says opening the bag.
“Well you’ve already got some cups and plates on the counter beside the sink…” James says.
But Aaron just continued watching TV, “Sorry man games back.” He says turning up the TV.
James then takes another deep breath and walks to his room but before he opens the door, he pauses.
“Oh yeah and it’s the first Friday of the month so…” he says, and with that Aaron mutes the TV and gets up off the couch.
“Ah yeah about that, you see my hours have been crazy lately, so any chance I could get a few more days on my half, a week tops?” he asks knowing that James has covered his share of the rent before.
“Ah I don’t know, my hours have been pretty unstable too and you already owe me last week so…” James says.
“I know but just one more month. You know I’m good for it.” He says smiling desperately
“Ah okay, just one more time...” James says.
“You are the greatest my friend!” Aaron says smiling.
Aaron then happily returns to the couch and James heads to his room.
"Oh boy, he can barely take care of anything" muttered James as he closed the door to his room.
