Nothing but horses in this one. Everything goes as long as it is horse related.

Chapter #5

Look around for a mare

    by: Fairy Author IconMail Icon
Wiping the sweat from your brow, you walk through the stables to where the mares are kept.

You walk past a row of stalls, a few occupied by some older mares twice your own age. You smile at them as you pass, believing they acknowledge you in their own way. There were a few empty stalls; your family never owned enough horses to fill the place.

You come to another part of the stables, an area that was built a few years ago to replace a crumbling part of the stable. The stalls here were bigger, more enclosed, allowing you to play with the horses without being disturbed so easily. This part also housed the younger mares, the ones you remember being yearlings and colts, running out in the fields while you held your mother's hand. It was with these mares you bonded with as you all grew up. They had grown up into mares and left you behind, but you didn't care about age.

You approach one stall, seeing the young mare housed within. This horse now stood tall and bold, one of the finest your family owned, but you remember when she was just a yearling running along behind her mother. Your cute smile widens as you enter her stall.

'Heya, girl.' you say as you approach. The horse sees you and trots forward a little. You reach out to stroke her thick neck.
'How are you?' you whisper. The horse reacts happily to your touch, tilting its head slightly, her mane touching your fingertips. The mane was the same dark brown as your own shoulder-length hair, with a long fringe covering your right eye.

'Say, are you hungry?' you ask her. The horse snorts softly in reply. You giggle, turning to see a bucket of sugar cubes.

As you reach for some sugar cubes, your camisole slips out your hand and onto the floor. You're too preoccupied with feeding the horse to pick it up just yet.

You have the following choices:

*Pen*
1. You continue to pet the horse

2. You bend down to pick up your camisole... and notice something

*Pen* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
