Suddenly, you hear somebody breaking into the h...

Your thoughts were interrupted with the sound of a small crash from downstairs. The noise startles you, a loud thud as if a door was suddenly forced open with tremendous effort. From the direction of the sound, you gather it is the back door, closest to the barn. It was a fairly windy night so you thought there was no immediate cause for alarm. You decide that it was nothing but still probably worth a check...just in case. As you climb out of bed you briefly think to get dressed but quickly dismiss that thought as you figured if it was nothing you;d get back to sleep faster.
You cautiously walk down the stairs, your thoughts of a quick sleep are diminished as you hear more stirring downstairs. Glass jarring, furniture shifting. Whatever was downstairs it sounded huge, definitely not a person, which more or less calmed your mind easing your racing heart. You cautiously exit the staircase, turning the corner into the kitchen the sounds got louder, even hearing what sounded like grunts coming from...the living room. Your heart races again as the sounds seem quite familiar. You turn the corner into the living room to see....
