Leia eventually identified and assembled all the herbs that the ceremony called for. The intricate pattern that had to be laid out in smoothly poured salt was a pain in the ass to draw, and took several attempts to complete to her satisfaction. Unsure what she expected, Leia was recording all the processes on her phone. Whether she actually expected anything to happen, or was just working herself up to leave the job. She wasn't sure.
The final stage of preparation was placing the candles at the right point in the patterns, and then to chant the summoning expression. It was meant to enclose some demon... and contain them until they granted some wish, or command before they could be released.
