As soon as i reach the front i hear the scream of men charging at us, finally some action!
My enthusiasm get a little colder as i notice that our bandit wanna be has no strategy at all, only a bunch of fool with a stick of steel, a ruined black padded armor and probably bad manners trying to rob anything that moves. Still i grab the hilt of my longsword and preparing a spell, i try to discern the best possible target, and the opportunity don't make itself wait.
There in the middle of our welcoming party, a man, physically imposing, bark order left and right moving his scimitar like a wand, perfect, i hope the caravan master like his bandit well cooked with just the right crisp on them.
I feel my power burning inside me, as i charge the incendiary bolt and aim for my victim, the palm of my hands start to become so hot that the air around it start to deform slightly, just like what's happen over a big fire. I focus my will on my power, willing it to take the shape of a sphere and when i am ready, i unleash my punishing bolt on the moronic fool that think to ruin my day. Last mistake pal.
As soon as the bolt is released, a orange light cover my surroundings along with the pulsing noise of the spell release, the bandit leader having notice the light show, turn towards me and look with terror as his fiery death come closer. Not even the time to scream that an loud explosion cover the improvised battlefield, while a tremendously hot flame cover the remaining of the bandit leader, now turning to ashes.
The remaining bandit run for their lives as i show off, moving tongue of flame between my fingers, licking the ground around me and leaving burn mark wherever they touch, threatening them to release a heat strong enough to consume their very soul.
The bandits run for their lives, crawling back from the dark hole they spawn of. The caravan master impressed talked briefly about a bonus when we would have reached the city and immediately returned to the head of the caravan.
A few hors has passed, and i have fully cooled down, normally i am not a sadistic bastard but bandits that pray upon others or common thugs deserve no mercy nor pity, that and i never like those fools, they always make my work more complicated then necessary.
Is not before another hour that we finally reach the quite big city of Kornos, and i can already tell that here, an interesting job wouldn't be too hard to find.
