I still feel the stinging pain from my last experiment result, a loud, powerful shock wave strong enough to slam me into the opposite wall. At least the laboratory is shielded against magic And explosion....acid fumes, bacterial contamination, fire..mostly.
As i get up from the unforgiving rock, i promise myself to be more careful next time, and possible the one afterwards too, but right now i have a bigger problem to solve.
Despite the result, i have learned from this accident, so in the end it was not all time lost; but the problem persist, and while the logical solution is theoretically an easy one, apply it in practice is not so, in fact i now know that i miss a rare component for completing my experiment but none such plant grow in this region.
I sigh, remembering how pricey acquiring such ingredient is gonna be, not sure if my finance could cover such expenses.
Far too distracted for continuing my work, i clean up the lab using a spell i specifically devised for such occasion, and retire to the bed chamber for a quick nap. I feel so listless right now that i probably won't be even able to sleep, so changing my destination i decide to do something that normally i barely consider worthy of my time, something that admittedly has inspired me in the past.
Visiting Kornos, the human city at the base of the mountain, not far from here.
Admittedly human are curios creatures, varying from illogical on some occasion to extremely dependent on others, from friendly to hostile for no reason whatsoever, beside the fact that i am a dragon. Like i could or would want to do something about it..
Mentally preparing myself for the onslaught of images and sound i will be inevitable bombarded with, i get myself ready grabbing my pouch with some gold and, rehearsing the shrinking spell for a few moments, i walk toward my home entrance hoping for the best.
It's not that i risk of getting attacked or something, well usually not by humans, but some of my species may not be....friendly depending on who i meet. No matter time to go and give my inspiration a good kick in the arse...is that how human say it, right?
