You really did not want to tell the truth just yet about who you were. You thought no one would believe that you were a sixteen year old boy who, because of an accident on the field trip, was now a little girl. Although you did not want to admit who you were, you could not think of a plausible story to tell.
"Who are you?", Zoe asked again.
"Did someone leave the door open again?", mom asked. You thought this was a good opening for your story.
"I was lost and I saw the door open and I came in", you lied.
"Really?", asked Ella. "Where are you from?"
"I don't know really, we just recently moved here and I'm not used to the place yet,", you said quickly.
"Well we'll just have to call your folks then, shall we?", mom said as she reached for the phone.
Of course, you had not thought about that and now you realized that you were getting deeper into a hopeless story, for now mom will ask you for a phone number which of course would be none other than mom's. Before you could stop yourself, you began to cry.
"Ooohh, dear, what's the matter sweetie?", mom asked, all concerned.
"I-I need to tell you something...", you sobbed.
"What?", mom asked, as your sisters looked at you with a mixture of anticipation and suspicion.
