"I'm so excited Baz! I can't believe we're actually doing this!"
"I am too, Saz! I wonder who it was that found that 'Sarcous' eye' anyway."
"Well, I'm sure we can find plenty of information here!"
The two stood before a tavern, which was brimming with people. The hustle and bustle caused by the rumor of someone finding a long-lost sorcerer's pendant had caused many adventurers, both seasoned and new, to come out of where ever they hid to find the pendant. The two opened the door and entered, seeing the tavern filled with many patrons, either drinking, rough-housing, throwing darts, or even just sitting around their tables. Baz, the young sword-master, puffed up his chest with pride, wanting to look as tough and intimidating as he could. With his light leather armor and sword, he strode inside along with his sister. Saz is a competent spell-weaver, able to cast spells of the four major element of nature. With book in hand, and flowing green robes on, she walked closely beside her brother. The two were twin siblings, both otters. Around the age of 18, they set out from their home town in search of adventure. With the spreading news of the 'discovered' Sarcous' eye, they saw it as the perfect adventure to go on. In case you're wondering why the two are so young, let's just say that they're care-free, happy-go-lucky, and very naive...
"Hey Saz, there's a lot of people in here." Baz said, turning to his sister.
"Yeah, Baz. I wonder if they're all like us." Saz said.
"Well first thing's first. We should go get something to drink." Baz said.
The two sat adjacent to each other at the counter as the bartender was cleaning another mug. The burly wolf anthro eyed them before approaching.
"Well, what can I get you two?" he asked.
"Some apple juice, if you've got any." Baz ordered.
"How about a tall glass of milk?" Saz ordered.
The wolf eyed them again before getting their drinks ready. As he set the two down, he smiled as he leaned on the counter.
"Aren't you two a little young to be adventures?" he asked.
"Yes! Yes we are." Baz said.
"Thank you for asking." Saz said.
The wolf chuckled as the twins downed their drinks. With their thirst quenched, Baz set down a few gold coins, which the wolf pocketed.
"So, any particular reason why you are out adventuring at such a young age?"
"Well, we always wanted to set out on an exciting journey!" Saz said.
"When we heard about this Sarcous' eye thing being found, we thought it was the perfect adventure to go on!" Baz said.
"Heheheh, every damn adventurer is out and about, thanks to the rumor. You two will obviously find some competition on your way. It'd be better if you two just give up and find a smaller prize to look for." the wolf said.
"What? N-no! We agreed to go on this one!" Baz said.
"That's right! We may have just started out, but we're going to see it through to the end!" Saz said.
The wolf was both mildly surprised, and rather impressed by the twins' bravery, or stupidity. He chuckled lightly as he returned to cleaning used mugs. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
